The Routes

The cycling roads are now marked with white arrows at all junctions showing the route for the Bike Routes.

Full race signage will be erected the day before the race.

 

BabyMAC Route: 20km
Trail Run: 3.2km - within the ecountry Park with no major climbs

Road Bike: 16km - all on tarmac roads

Kayak: ~400m & Short Dash or Dunk to Finish

The BigMAC SPORT Run and Run 1 for MonsterMAC EXPERT will be 7.2km trail run with some testing climbs within the grounds of Millstreet Country Park Click  HERE for the route description.

Run for the Baby MAC will be a fully marked shorter route with less climbing within the country park.

Run 2 (MonsterMAC EXPERT course only!) will be a challenging 10km on the Duhallow Way and on open Mountain to include the summit of Musheramore - height of 644m!  Click HERE for Garmin of the EXPERT only Run 2

 

Summary of Route for MonsterMAC EXPERT Run 2:

10km all off road with approx 3km on good quality forest track - Remainder on a mix of rough tracks and open mountain

410m of climb and descent

From front of Millstreet Country Park after 100 m go left (North).

Follow Duhallow Way for approx 2.5km until you reach a wire fence where you turn right.

Follow fence until you reach forest after about 200m and then continue down with forest on your right for about 300m until you see a track on your right.

follow this somewhat overgrown track for abnout 500m until you reach new forestry track.

Take right hand track after 100m and continue along this track ignoring all turns until another "V" where you take the right fork.

Follow this track until just befor end of track after about 6.5km  (You will see a few trees ahead of you).

Take rough track up to right and then righ again with fence on your left and felled forest on your right.

Where this fence turns right cross at hole in fence and continue up to the spot height (555m).

Continue then on short flat section past Holy Well and Cross to Trig Point at Summit of Musheramore (644m).

Take sharp left and return to entrance to Millstreet Country Park on well worn and rough track keeping the fence on your right. 

Please bring a map and only attempt this in good visibility and if you are capable of following a map.

The full run route markings will only be put out on morning of the race

 

 

The Kayak leg will be a short section within the crannog lake in Millstreet Country Park.

Once you have completed your kayak leg you will run to the Crannog and then have the option of a dash to the line or take the shortcut dunk through the lake to the finish yes
